 Summer Camp 2009 - Salvation gives life - let’s live! With God's help again this year we held our youth camp in Ohrid, from 3-9 August. Again we gathered the youth of our congregations in Macedonia. Overall we had forty-five youth, thirsty for celebration and building up in the Word of God.
Our theme was: Salvation gives life - let’s live! We learned that you really need to celebrate life and be happy every day because every day is a gift from God.
Our days were filled with different activities. In the early morning we had lessons from our pastor Mihail Cekov, each day on a different theme: faith, forgiveness, unity and love. Immediately after the lessons, we were divided into working groups; we were given questions and each of the groups discussed the topic. As a conclusion, one person from each group reported on the group’s thinking. The working groups were really helpful. Because they were smaller, each person could share a story from his/her life and thus we learned more about each other and grew closer. After the morning work there was a break that we usually spent on the beach. In the evening hours, however, we gave a brief conclusion on the particular topic. We watched some videos and discussed many things. Of course, praising God was an integral part of our daily program. Once again, I spent a nice time with my friends and I would like such gatherings to be more and more frequent. But most important of all, what we heard and learned there, to be carried out in practice. To live this gift that God gives us! To Him be all glory and honor!     |
