Bishop Dr. Patrick Streiff visits the UMC in Macedonia PDF Print

From 25 - 29 March, 2010, Bishop Dr. Patrick Streiff visited some of our church congregations in Macedonia and had talks with certain representatives of churches and religious educational institutions in the country. Bishop Dr. Patrick Streiff was accompanied by his wife Heidi and by his associates, Superintendent Wilfried Nausner and his wife Jean, and by the supervising pastor  Mihail Cekov and his wife Christina Cekov.


-Thursday, March 25th, accompanied by his associates, Bishop Dr. Patrick Streiff visited our congregations in Bitola and Prilep, where he spoke about the activities of the church with pastor Aco Mitev (Bitola) and Nada Shamanova (Prilep).

During the visit to Bitola, Bishop Dr. Streiff had the opportunity to see and to visit land taken from the church during the time of Yugoslavia, land which has not yet been returned.

On Friday, March 26th, Bishop Dr. Streiff accompanied by Superintendent Wilfried Nausner and supervising pastor Mihail Cekov visited the Theological Faculty of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, where Bishop Dr. Streiff gave a lecture entitled “The Mission of the Church Today” before teachers and students.  At the same time, he was received by the Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Prof. Dr. Aco Girevski and Associate Dean Prof. Petko Zlateski, with whom he discussed mutual cooperation in the exchange of students and other activities related to theological education.



Bishop Dr. Patrick Streiff with his associates was received by his Beatitude Archbishop Stephen of the Macedonian Orthodox Church.  In warm and cordial conversation, the increase of mutual church cooperation was discussed.
